Vintage 1980s Diane Freis pants suit. Made in Hong Kong from soft, polyester georgette. The fabric has single gold threads running through both the spotted and floral panels. The pants have a shirred waist and are very comfortable. The top has buttons down center front and also has a row of buttons down the centre back inside an inverted pleat. Top curves up at the sides and has a pleated collar. A feature of many Diane Freis items is that one size will fit 2 to 3 sizes due to clever use of shirred waists, blouson tops and voluminous skirts. Condition is excellent. Please note: I have replaced the elastic in the pants and the arms as it had lost it’s stretch. Shoulder pads have been removed but will be sent with the set.
Best fit 12-14-16 au but please check measurements taken with the garment laid flat, one side only. There is a lot of fabric in the top.
TOP: Shoulders 41cm, Bust up to 60cm, Waist free size, Hips free size (open side curves), Length 79cm from mid shoulder. PANTS: Waist 30-50cm shirred, Hips up to 60cm. Overall a easy fit comfy set which folds into almost nothing, weighs almost nothing, so great for travelling. Has been gentle machine washed, no ironing required.
